2014 Bayou City Step Challenge

Annual PCOS 5K keeps us GOING!

PCOS affects an estimated 10 million women in the United States alone.  Women suffering from PCOS can experience
infertility, obesity, facial and body hair and/or miscarriages to name some of the symptoms. PCOS places women at a 10-fold risk of heart attacks and stroke and a 3-fold risk of endometrial cancer. It also significantly increases the risk of diabetes. All types of women can be diagnosed with this unfortunate medical condition. Less than half of women with PCOS have been diagnosed, making awareness efforts crucial to the fight against this syndrome.

Every September during PCOS National Awareness Month: TAKE A STAND, TAKE A STEP for the millions of women affected with PCOS.

The PCOS Foundation is hosting our the Annual 2014 PCOS Bayou City Step Challenge 5K where we have incorporated stairs to symbolize the STEPS in which patients go through for finding a solution to preventing diseases and symptoms associated with PCOS.

PCOS Symposium...

Wow! This is incredible! I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 14 and I am so amazed at how much has been accomplished. I am now 26 and I am so happy to see that PCOS is finally being recognized.
